Lay Readers/Lay Administrants
This ministry facilitates our morning worship service. Lay readers and administrants help with the distribution of the bread and wine at all Holy Communion services, read scripture, and lead the prayers of the people.
Praise Teams
The Praise Teams lead the congregation in "worship-in-song". Using a blend of contemporary and traditional songs their goal is to express praise to God and respond to His work in our lives. The teams desire to worship with the congregation, and encourage deeper commitment to our Lord Jesus Christ. Teams are committed to regular practice, and lead in the service at least once a month.
Altar Guild
Altar Guild members serve in their ministry "behind the scenes." Our task is to assist the clergy by preparing the sanctuary and altar for weekly communion services as well as for special services during Thanksgiving, Advent, Christmas, Lent, and Easter and for baptisms and confirmations. We continue to encourage recruiting for new members and we provide the necessary training by working alongside one of the current members. The commitment is to be on duty approximately twice a month.
Sermon recordings
The team coordinates the recording, reproduction, and the distribution of the readings, praise music and sermons during the Sunday and special services. Copies are provided to the Young Church volunteers and parishioners. Training on the use of the equipment is provided.
Soundboard
This task involves operating the soundboard during music practice and services, including setting up microphones. Training is provided. Time commitment is one Sunday a month and the music practice.
LCD/Overhead
This ministry provides an important service by presenting the words of the service, the praise songs, and the hymns on the overhead screen. This frees people to concentrate on the worship.
The operators lead the congregation by displaying the words to the liturgy and music by operating the computer and LCD projector. The presentations are prepared by a small team who work with office staff and the praise music team and provide necessary quality assurance (QA).
