We are looking forward to hosting a choice of two hikes to view the larch trees of Peter Lougheed Provincial Park in their beautiful fall colours. The hikes will be suitable for different levels of walkers and so hope to make the experience more accessible to those who would prefer a medium level hike.
Both of the hikes will begin together at the same location for the first leg.
You can then choose to hike the Arethusa Cirque route (4.5 kms loop with 378 meters of elevation gain), which takes about 2.5 hours of walking time to complete.
OR you can choose to hike the more challenging option of Little Arethusa (4.8 kms out and back with 625 meters of elevation gain) which takes approximately 3.5 hours to complete.
- Hikers will meet at the church for 7:30am and depart by car pool at 7:45am. The drive is approximately a hour and a half to the start point of the hikes.
- Please bring along snacks, lunch and water, and wear suitable footwear (ideally hiking shoes or boots).
The expected return time to the church is between 3:30pm and 4:30pm.
